When you read the epistles of Paul the Apostle, you'll notice that he frequently refers to God as the God of Peace. He often begins or ends his letters by saying, "Grace be to you and peace from God the Father, and from our Lord Jesus Christ."
So, in Romans, he was essentially conveying a simpler message: They were unfamiliar with God and His ways. But, my dear friend, you know, and the very spirit of God dwells within you. So, why do you find yourself in distress? Remember the story of Jesus and His disciples in the boat. While a storm raged, Jesus was at peace, sound asleep, while the disciples grew anxious., Mark 4:38-39 "And he was in the hinder part of the ship, asleep on a pillow: and they awake him, and say unto him, Master, carest thou not that we perish?
And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm"
Peace is a profound concept within God's kingdom.
John 14:27"Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid."
The peace found in the world is distinct from the peace that comes from God; it is temporary and contingent on external factors. Recently, I've noticed that many persons are experiencing distress due to various circumstances, such as the loss of loved ones, financial difficulties, and personal setbacks. For some, it's the anxiety of what the future holds and the uncertainty that troubles them.
Peace is not present even in the "perfection" or stability of our lives; rather, it is in Jesus. He gives a peace that makes no sense.
Philippians 4:7"And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus."
To have the peace of God, you have to have peace with God, Romans 5:1 "Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ" All you need to do is welcome Him and allow Him to be the Lord of your life, and He enters with gifts, with peace being one of those precious gifts.
Also as believers, we do not walk by sight but by faith, and your hope is built on Jesus's blood and righteousness!
The peace of God is unparalleled and incomparable, existing in a class of its own. It is a perfect and enigmatic peace that transcends understanding. Even though it surpasses our comprehension, we can recognize its presence, and we can sense when it is absent.
We experience it amid unspeakable pain and yet somehow, we have this calmness over us. We experience it when we’re in financial struggles and are unsure of how to pay the next bill, yet we’re amazed we can rest in God’s provision. It also signifies the ability to soothe every tempest, to speak to each anxiety, hurt, and pain, and command your heart to "peace, be still."
We know God keeps His word.
This is the peace of God.
I love you,
Rom 15:13"May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit" Amen
