But...
Ecclesiastes 10:1 NLT "As dead flies cause even a bottle of perfume to stink, so a little foolishness spoils great wisdom and honor."Some time ago, I watched a video about what happens when flies land on your food. It left me feeling irritated, and I couldn't bring myself to watch until the end.
As little as a fly is and as insignificant as it may seem, it can cause an expensive and exquisite bottle of perfume to stink thus rendering it useless.
Similarly the presence of a but. In today's episode the but is CHARACTER.
You see many people are good-looking, intelligent, gifted, talented, the list goes on "but" bankrupt of character.
These qualities and abilities are amazing however many people have had all of these and still failed, why? Bankruptcy of character!
In the words of Pastor Prince" The hallmark of greatness is humility and simplicity"
Let's learn from the lives of these people,
In the book of Esther, the Bible speaks of Queen Vashti,
Esther 1:11 NLT " to bring Queen Vashti to him with the royal crown on her head. He wanted the nobles and all the other men to gaze on her beauty, for she was a very beautiful woman."
A very beautiful woman, so lovely The King wanted nobles to gaze at her beauty.
But she was proud and soon lost her position as the Queen to someone humble.
Another lesson from the war General II Kings 5:1 NKJV "Now Naaman, commander of the army of the king of Syria, was a great and honorable man in the eyes of his master, because by him the Lord had given victory to Syria. He was also a mighty man of valor, but a leper."
so many good things concluded with a but.
Is there a but in your life? Perhaps a dead fly? "she is beautiful but proud, or he is very intelligent but full of anger and of himself" Or is your but the love of money, hatred, selfishness?
Whatever it may be you must decide to take it out, by the Holy Spirit. As good as you may be, you may never be able to live up to your greatest potential because the "but" will limit the power of God at work in your life.
May the grace of The Lord be with you.
I am so proud of you and your consistent desire for growth, cheers to painting better colors on Life's Canvas🎨
I love you❤️
Wow, thank you so much for this, it has blessed me and I hope to consciously and prayfully identify the “but” in my life and eliminate them.
