Yet, I've come to realize that often the most effective teachers are those who have faced and conquered similar struggles.
Throughout this series, I'll also offer advice on staying consistent within this context.
Prayer embodies diverse interpretations depending on individual convictions. It can serve as a channel for communication with God, fostering a connection with the spirit of God and energizing our spirits.
Some view prayer solely as a means of making requests, often treating it like a speed dial for emergencies. We've all been this person
"Hey Jesus it's me again..."
But what is the significance of prayer to you?
Luke 18:1 "And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint;"
This means that if you do not pray you faint, the word faint here means give up, become weary.
Let's look at it this way, if you were to embark on a hunger strike, the outcome would likely entail a depletion of energy and weight loss, potentially leading to various symptoms like dizziness.
Same principle, man is a spirit that has a soul living in a body, so what happens when you do not feed your spirit? Retarded growth, compromised immune system... 1+1=2
It doesn't make sense that a 30-year-old should remain an infant. I know you may have just received the gift of salvation congratulations however you can grow. there's so little God can do with you until you attain maturity.
Heb 5:NLT "[13] For someone who lives on milk is still an infant and doesn’t know how to do what is right. [14] Solid food is for those who are mature, who through training have the skill to recognize the difference between right and wrong."
Jude 1:20 "But you, beloved, build yourselves up on [the foundation of] your most holy faith [continually progress, rise like an edifice higher and higher], pray in the Holy Spirit"
Continually progress! You see that by the spirit as you pray in tongues you are making progress, rising like an edifice higher and higher. But here's the best part he does not put a limit on how high you can rise, that is entirely your choice but remember,
"that men ought always to pray, and not to faint;"
Beyond the answers we receive prayer purifies your soul, it brings out a glow in your spirit. It strengthens your faith and lubricates your walk with the Holy Ghost.
But there's more...
